Donald (an interior designer) and Kathy (a practicing barrister and solicitor) were born and raised in Auckland. Sunderland House has been running since 2003.
Our knowledge of New Zealand is extensive, having travelled the country widely and lived and worked for periods of time in London, Birmingham, Wellington, Queenstown, and Palmerston North. We frequently go to Europe so as to spend time with our son who lives in London.
We purpose build Sunderland House as boutique bed and breakfast accommodation in 2003 to channel our keen interest in people, food, travel and knowledge of New Zealand.
Sunderland House isn’t complete without Ben. Ben our ten year old Springer Spaniel takes a keen interest in welcoming guests, walking and food (although we actively try to discourage the latter).
