The Library


The library and its adjacent verandah and sun-porch is for guest use. Relax and enjoy the reading material, decorative writing desk and board games. Open the French doors in the summer or have them closed with the warmth of the fire in winter. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of this room and indulge yourself with a complimentary port or sherry from the decanters as you listen to classical music.

The Dining and Breakfast Experience


Breakfast is served in the main dining room open to the farmhouse kitchen which features a large country table. If you wish to dine alone a table for two is situated within the sun-porch. In summer you may wish to dine outside on the rear covered deck surrounded by the cool tropical garden.

Tea and coffee with complimentary home baking, is always available at the guests kitchenette adjacent to the suites.

The Garden

 

The garden although small has many themes one leading into another, from a Chinese garden to, tropical, vegetable orchard, woodland and native planting areas. Relax in the hammocks with a good book and a glass of wine. A plentiful supply of home grown herbs from the garden make for great cooking in the farmhouse style kitchen.

 

Phone/fax and Free Wireless Internet

 

A courtesy phone and fax is available on request along with a wireless broadband facility for your personal laptop. Any non-local calls will be charged to your final account.

 

Laundry

 

If required there is a guests laundry, an internal washing line in the basement and a clothes line in the garden to freshen your clothes in the sun. We are happy to wash your laundry at no extra charge.

 

Payment

 

We accept, Visa and Mastercard credit cards only, no deposit is required to make a reservation.

 

A Regular Bus Service and Walking

 

A regular bus service to the city runs every 20 minutes to the central business district. On a fine day a 45 minute walk along the Herne Bay and Ponsonby streets to the CBD is very pleasurable, ending up at the viaduct basin renowned for luxury yachts and cafe culture.
