Your Hosts

Donald (an interior designer) and Kathy (a practicing barrister and solicitor) were born and raised in Auckland. Their knowledge of New Zealand is extensive, having travelled the country widely and lived for periods of time in Wellington, Queenstown and Palmerston North.

Donald and Kathy are also seasoned world travelers. They have both lived and worked in London and still frequently visit London to spend time with their UK based son. Sunderland House was purpose built as boutique bed and breakfast accommodation by Donald and Kathy so as to channel their keen interest in people, food, travel and New Zealand.

Ben the Springer Spaniel

is nine years old and takes a keen interest in welcoming guests, walking and food although they try to discourage the latter.

All guest rooms

are situated on the second (top) floor and it is Donald and Kathy’s personal covenant is to ensure that Sunderland House is a quality experience where your privacy is paramount, and your stay relaxing, enjoyable and stress less.
